Social emotional learning (SEL) has become an increasingly important topic in education in recent years, as educators and researchers alike have recognized the crucial role that emotional intelligence plays in a student’s overall success SEL is defined by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) as the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others social emotional learning in schools.
