5G, everybody’s talking about it. The future 5G mobile network will make it possible to absorb the exponential growth in mobile traffic and heralds a revolution in usage.

According to promotional information, 5G will be an ultra-fast and ultra-reactive network, allowing us to connect a more significant number of users. But at what price? That of massive irradiation of the Earth’s population and biosphere. Neither the telecommunications industry nor governments have conducted any studies on the effects of 5G on health and the environment. However, scientific studies by independent researchers suggest that many harmful effects will occur once 5G networks are on.

What is 5G?

5G promises speeds up to 10 times faster than 4G and a connection density that will allow more objects to be connected simultaneously to the same network. The development of autonomous and connected vehicles, remote control of surgical robots, or simultaneous translation are all possibilities.

This network is based on signals carried by radio frequencies, just like television, radio broadcasting, or mobile telephony as we know it today. These are waves to which we are already exposed. Initially, 5G will use frequency ranges already used for 2G, 3G, and 4G. Then, from 2025 onwards, new bands will be required at a higher frequency than those currently used: first, the 3.5 GHz bands (close to 4G and Wi-Fi), then 26 GHz, already used by some satellites.

What are the health risks of 5g?

This fifth generation of wireless communication technology raises many questions and concerns.

5G promises a technological revolution and a revolution in uses. But there is relatively little discussion about the health implications of 5G. Indeed, because of the electromagnetic waves and the number of antennas that will have to be deployed, the new mobile network is generating mistrust. Not least, some people are concerned about the potential adverse health effects of 5G.

And this has been the case for some time now. In 2017, 230 scientists from all over the world launched a joint moratorium on the dangers of 5G or millimeter waves. With a relatively short range, they will require the deployment of more relay antennas.

These doctors and scientists anticipate the harmful effects of these millimeter waves on health: ” risk of cancer, cellular stress, an increase in harmful free radicals, genetic and reproductive damage. To justify their fears, the experts rely on a study by the U.S. National Toxicology Program, the largest ever conducted on the subject.

One aspect that has so far received little attention is precisely the alteration of the immune system under the action of electromagnetic fields (EMF). This disturbance exists and has been observed in radar technicians, subway employees, workers exposed by profession to shallow frequency EMFs, museum employees, housewives living near radio and television antennas. In all of them, a change in the blood count was observed, with a significant decrease in cytotoxic lymphocytes, which may promote the possible proliferation of infectious agents or cancer cells. Animal experimentation has confirmed this immunosuppressive effect of EMF.

It is, therefore, a risk that can lead to serious health consequences. This risk is exceptionally high in children. A comparative epidemiological study involving thousands of children showed that those exposed to shallow frequency EMF were twice as likely to develop leukemia. The effects of the waves on the immune system in women are more pronounced than in men. There is evidence that a weakened immune system promotes breast cancer in women.

It can be useful for a doctor to know the state of the immune system of his patients by asking the lab for a lymphocyte typing. In case of abnormal results, a therapy based on immune protective products will eventually be decided by the practitioner.

However, the primary focus should be on reducing the causes.

And it is the emitters of electromagnetic waves that are concerned.
